My name is Kelly Foster, and I am happy to be your 2010 student representative for the North Carolina School Psychology Association. NCSPA is a wonderful professional association of over 400 NC school psychologists. It serves its members and society by promoting the rights, welfare, education, and mental health of children and youth. Through NCSPA we are able to share knowledge and focus on the advancement of the profession of school psychology. We know that the students of school psychology now are the key holders to the future of the profession of school psychology. So no pressure and lets get excited!
I want to start by saying, "Congratulations!", to all of you new school psychology students for getting into graduate school (it is no easy task) and choosing school psychology as your profession. We are a special group of professionals who work hard to better the world through our children. So please give yourself a pat on the back for your ambitious compassion.
I would like to start the school year off right by making this blog an ACTIVE resource for all NCSPA school psychology students. But I can not do it without your help. I will try and post interesting and relevant topics surrounding school psychology to this blog but I need you to post and comment on these issues. This blog could potentially be a great resource, for gaining information on potential internship sites, scholarship information, drive ins, conference information, research opportunities, and important school psychology issues needing our attention. Please take some time out of studying to show North Carolina how committed and influential our students are to the profession of school psychology.
